Food and music lovers will be able to enjoy an evening of ‘eat and beats’ in the stunning setting of Kenilworth Castle in August thanks to a new event from a Warwickshire-based company.
CJ’s Events Warwickshire, which runs markets, festivals and events across the country and beyond, is launching its first ‘Eats & Beats Evening’ event on Friday, August 19.
The event will see the iconic castle ruins host a host of street food vendors selling gourmet food alongside bars serving local ales and cocktails, and live music from up-and-coming artists, all set against the backdrop of the famous historic site.
Street food will include grilled cheese croutons from That’s Mature and fish and chips masala from ‘Indian chippy’ Cheeky Maharaja, which caters to events in the Midlands, as well as burgers and sausages from Mister V and sweet treats from The Brownie Boss, both courtesy of Leamington Spa. Drinks will include cocktails from Gingers Bar, beer from Fosse Way Brewery and prosecco and gin from The Little Fizz Van.
In addition to a wide selection of food and drink, entertainment will be provided by musicians Annabelle Elizabeth, Cole Stock and Sonya Ruth, as well as Leamington’s Twisted Minds.
Drinks will be served
The event will run from 18:00 to 22:00 and is the first of its kind at Kenilworth Castle.
Jamie Walker, director of CJ’s Events, said: “The idea behind the Eats & Beats Evening is to bring the local community together after a difficult few years for all of us.
“The beautiful grounds of Kenilworth Castle are the perfect place to visit, relax and socialize, so we wanted to give them the opportunity to do just that with delicious food and music in a truly unique location.”
Kenilworth Castle and its Elizabethan gardens have played a key role in the history of England, from being one of the country’s most fearsome medieval fortresses to Robert Dudley later transforming it into an impressive palace to impress his queen.
It remains a popular tourist attraction with the opportunity to explore its medieval fortress, climb its Tudor towers and enjoy its unique gardens, but the Evening Eats & Beats event will give people the chance to enjoy it for an evening with great food, drink and music.
